Floppy disk and the USB

History of the floppy disk drive

One of the most popular in 1967 at the IBM was Alan Shugart because he invented the
floppy disk drive (FDD). The first floppy drives used in 8-inche disk (later called a diskette as it got smaller), which evolved into the 5.25 inch disk that was used on the first IBM Personal computer in August 1981. However it does not last long because the capacitu of 5.25 inch disk has only 360 kilobytes so the IBM invented a new disk which has a capacity 1.44 megabytes and quite smaller which is about 3.5 inch diskette. The 5.25 inch disks were dubbed “floppy” because the diskette packaging was a very flexible plastic envelope, unlike the rigid case used to hold today’s 3.5 inch diskette.

At present most of the people now enjoyed a new trend which is now called USB. USB has different choice. Customers can choose what capacity they would like to purchased. Based on my own know there is about 16GB USB which was now invented and most of my friends have it already. With this we have to what out for the most high technology from the IBM.

CD-ROM driver and CD-Writer driver

CD-ROM Drive is one of the hardware in the computer and primarily located in a PC. This is where CD’s are inserted and read by the computer. The typical CD-ROM drive will only read information on CD, you cannot alter the information in anyway.

CD-writer drives function in much the same way as the typical CD-ROM drive. It is also piece of hardware in the computer (PC) and you insert a CD into it and the computer can read the CD using a laser inside this drive. CD-Writer drive can read information data and has a capability to write new information data onto a CD.

CD-Writer Drive

CD-Writer Drive refers to a device which is capable of reading and writing informational data to a compact disk (CD). The storing of informational data on CD is quite different from storing in a folder in a desktop or lap top. Writing and reading on CD is not that easy because burning is required for CD. Burning a CD or burning is process in which the laser inside the driver burns the informational data onto a CD. This is quite a process and involves especial programs. It is currently quite slow, but as new developments are released, the time is reducing.
